hi recently re installed vista to my lap top but somehow lost wirless capability. have tried fn f1 but these don't work

You may need to install the device driver for the wireless device.

Go to Network Connections and look to see if you have a wireless Icon - Icon with cross through it = turned off. No Icon present likely suggests no device driver.
