Water barrel repair?

My green plastic water barrel (water butt) has a hairline leak. How can I seal it?

I have the same problem and I have tried the soldering and silicone sealant. This improved the situation somewhat, but not entirely. There is a drip from one of the two cracks, but I cannot tell exactly from where. Is there any other advice or product to seal this that you could recommend me. The problem stems from the fact that the faucet was bumped by the lawn mower causing the cracks. Thanks. AB

If the split is not too long, you can use a soldering iron to melt the two edges together, OR you can try using a silicone sealant, making sure that evrything's bone dry first.
