my Panasonic NN-A773s switches off after 3 seconds?

When I start the microwave, regardless of settings, the turntable won't move and the machine switches off after only 3 seconds. All other functions seem to work. There seems to be a small switch set into the body of the machine where the lower door latch engages. I tried to prod it with a small screw driver which worked for a couple of uses, however, this no longer helps and the oven won't work for more than 3 seconds. Any constructive suggestions much appreciated

Oh and just for good measure the gypsies warning, it is deadly true, so take care

Whatever happens please remember you are messing around in a piece of equipment that runs at 4000volts and due to the design of its circuitry under certain fault conditions it remains lethal months after having been disconnected from the mains supply. its not rocket science as they say, but it is not for the layman either. Contact me via microwave-repairs.co.uk if you need further help.
