APM6842 Diplomat fridge/freezer-just doesn't keep cold enough, seems to be working but milk goes off after a couple of days.
Also there is a illuminated button switch by temperature regulator, any ideas what this is for?

I had exactly the same problem when I moved in to a new place a few days ago. This is what I did, it may be coincidence or whatever but it works now: I filled the drain hole at the back of the fridge (with the red thing sticking out) with a few pints of water. It may bugger your fridge but it fixed mine, depends how desperate you are!
