This die cast housing looks like a bad design. The fragile mount for the spring fractures.
If you lift out the brush, unscrew the mount you should easily be able to use the edge of a needle file to create a notch in the flange separating the brush enclosure and the screw mount. Cut a small safety pin 15mm from the spring on one leg and very near the spring on the other. Place the cut safety pin so that the screw goes through the coiled spring and the long leg fits through your newly created notch. Bend the long leg down using needle nosed pliers so that when the screw is fastened back into it’s mount the leg of the safety pin will apply pressure to the back of the brush. I took some photos but don’t know if I can include these. Motor runs fine.
