Try a forced RESET, this is done as follows - with power-off at the mains plug - press and hold the left and right arrow buttons, then switch on power at plug, wait for approx 30 seconds, then if the blue record light circles as it does when u set it to record, then press the select button, this re-formats the HDD, if this does not work, then its a possible fault with the SMPS (power section), or the logic board, i can supply a CCT diagram, but only if you know what ur doing
