Worth servicing leaking no hot water 28yr old Mira 722 for £169?

We have a 28yr old Mira 722 leaking water and the temperature lever jerks from position to position and only gives cold water. I rang Mira and a service will cost £169 inc. parts and a 1yr guarantee. But ,if the guy says it is not economic to repair then it is £69.
Is this worth doing ?

You can get those parts for much cheaper than that and fit it yourself.

Cartridges are available there.

You have to consider how much it would cost to replace your shower. The pipe centres are unusual so this would require extra work from a plumber to replace the shower. Parts for the 722 are expensive, especially the cartridge, so at least the fixed price repair limits the amount of your liability. In my experience a 722 can nearly always be returned to working order so I would be confident in Mira's ability to repair it for you
