how do i fix the back wheel on my mobility scooter, it wont turn?

Hi, my mum bought a second hand mobility scooter (wispa) and it came with a 7 day warrenty. a couple of weeks later the back left wheel was clicking and then stopped turning altogether. The shop wanted to charge my mum £500 - £600 to repair it. Is it possible to get the parts and fix it myself for her? if so what do i need.
Thanks

One wheel only means that the differential gear box has probably broken a tooth on a gear. You have been quoted for a new gearbox but a mechanic may be able to strip it down and repair it or take it apart yourself and see what broke, very dirty job though.

If the back wheel is not turning, then either the motor or the batteries are banjoed.
If the repair bill is in the amount you specify, I assume it is the motor to fault.
DO NOT pay for a repair so soon after purchase, as a 7 day warranty is, at the very least, dodgy...
Go to the local citizens advice office, or in the UK contact www.consumerline.org, and tell them the problem. They love this type of complaint and will NOT allow shops to get away with dodgy deals.
