Indesit will not start programme?

My Indesit washing machine switches on, but when I set it for a programme nothing happens, the light flickers briefly as it would for the start of the programme but it does not go any further or fill with water

If it wont do anything, not even spin then you probably have a faulty door lock or broken door catch
