mondeo ghia-will play cds but wont eject them,just says no disc??? ?

hi my dad has the ghia 2005 with the fitted sony cd plyer that holds 6 cds.it plays them but wont eject them for him to change them.just tellls him there are no cds in there!! driving him mad,please help x
