The design on this door seems terribly poor. I had another model by a different manufacturer before exchanging it for this one, and had the same issue. If I still had the broken piece of the hinge, I'd glue it with Quick Gel. Without that, there's a need to fabricate some small piece of plastic that can join onto this cover and create a hinge. Any ideas?

have you tried velcro????
it's a wonderful little inexpensive product that will work on just about anything. you can acquire it at any frabric store or hardware store such as home depot, lowes or ace hardware.
