Kenwood Amp KRF-V5090 indicates CLIP?

All inputs when selected give the CLIP indications \. According to the manual:
If the input level of an analog source signal is too high, the CLIP indicator will blink to indicate the source signal. Adjust the input level.
Even if I remove the input signal from all input devices the CLIP indicator stays on. The only input that works is the DTS input from the DVD player.
Sent for repair but is said to be uneconomical to repair.
