We have a hotpoint WF541 and the cycle has finished and all the lights are out but the handle feels loose and wont open the door.

I Have just done it by speeking to an expert i took the top of and in the middle of the locking mechanism there was i bit of silver latch (looked like a screw)and put a flat head screw driver on it and pushed it to the left (towards the drum ) the latch moved and the front just popped open.took seconds!!
