My speakers are plugged in but my computer can't detect them?

My speakers are plugged in to the proper place but my computer says "no audio device". I've tryed different speakers. What is wrong?

You need to reinstall the drivers for your sound card. If you don't have the CD, check the website of the vendor that made the card. (IE: Creative Sound Blaster)

Your computer can't detect speakers. The audio device that it can't detect is your sound card.
