how to test vacuum pump on a alternator on a ford transit

charliey, April 2018
If your vacuum pump is of the type that is attached to the back of the alternator, then you will most likely need to replace the oil seal in the back of the alternator

done a few vacuum pumps on these, bad for leaking oil, usually put a smear of sealant round the gasket holes where the oil flows, cant think that this will affect your water pump, would maybe try removing the pump again and make sure the gasket is located properly and while it is off check the surrounding area for leaks, good luck
