my Vauxhall Combo van keeps loosing power briefly when driving causing a judder, I go down a gear then back up and its fine again, the engine management light has gone on today, the AA couldnt find the fault but there is one somewhere but where?

I have the same problem with my 07 plate Vectra. I've been told that it is a blockage in the exhaust system somewhere which affects the EGR valve. I've been advised that it would be very costly to replace the parts and so would do better selling it on. Anybody else got any suggestions on how to unblock it?????

will probably have to go onto a code reader for a look at codes stored,check your intercooler hoses for splits,take off turbo pipe and feel the impeller for play,also the waste gate on the turbos are bad for sticking,usually get a long strong screwdriver and a torch and work the lever back and forth,its on the offside of the turbo,look down through the exhaust manifold,this usually brings on the management light but would get a code reader onto it first and take it from there,good luck
