Heating not working - Worcester greenstar 28i junior?

My hot water is working but the central heating won't come on. The boiler had its annual service a few weeks ago and has been working fine. I have looked through the manual but that doesn't give any simple instructions for fault fixing - seems to be wrtitten for professionals rather than owners. Please help!

Hi i recently moved into a house which has a Worcester 24i Junior boiler.

Hot water is fine but the heating does not come on.

Upon investigation it appears that when i activate the heating the boiler fires up, fan kicks in then the fan stops and boiler ticks off and error light flashes red.

Any ideas as i am struggling to find any answers on the internet.

The boiler was serviced in January so assume all worked then.

Any solutions would be appreciated

Thanks

probably faulty controls, i.e. timer or room thermostat. it may be a problem with the diverter valve but i doubt it. test the operation of the boiler by holding in the spanner button for 10 seconds, it'll light up, then turn the heating temperature dial to maximum. some lights will start flashing and the boiler will fire up. if your radiators start to heat up then that tells you that the boiler is fine and the problem is with the controls. the boiler will go back to normal after 15 minutes or so. if the rads don't heat then the diverter valve is faulty. if it's the worcester wireless controls you have then check the batteries in the timer.
