If you overwind a clock there is a loud bang as the spring breaks. In all probability your clock needs cleaning and oiling.This is best done by a competent repairer. Do not attempt to get it going by squirting oil or WD40 on the movement as this will at best be a temporary solution, and at worst cause even more damage.
