window handle replacement?

there is no handle on the top floor window. Don't know who or when it was installed. I bought handle but screws or spindle do not fit. What is my best solution. Thanks

If you have the same window elsewhere then remove one of the handles and take it with you when buying a replacement (to check it is compatible)
