netgear connection?

been given a netgear wnr2000...no cables ..what do i need to connect it to a laptop

To connect to the Internet you will need...

A contract with an ISP
A telephone line
A Wireless Router (wnr2000 for instance)
A filter to join your telephone line to the house 'phone and the router
A cable between the router and the filter
An external power supply for the router
A wireless device in the laptop
The device driver for the wireless card

Given the relatively low cost of Wireless Routers - in the UK, BT give you a free one if you take out a Broadband contract with them - you may be best off giving your wnr2000 to somebody else.
