How can I remove side-on kitchen mixer tap heads?

I have what I would call side-on mixer taps in my kitchen - they are not the sort with the hot & cold indicators facing upwards that you pop out to get to the inner screws. Anyone looking at the UK B&Q website (www.diy.com), the model is Melbourne
Two days ago the cold tap stopped turning on - when we turn it the handle just clicks round. I'm assuming something inside needs to be tightened, but can't work out how to get the tap head off to get in there. It seems a small job and not one I want to spend £100 on in fully replacing the taps.

around the blue ring on the cold tap insert a thin screwdriver or a pointed tool and the silver end cap will pop of and u will see a screw remove screw u will be able to remove the cover head then u need a spanner to open the head unscrew the head and it just comes out these are ceramic head valve u may struggle to find a replacement best to call manufacturers who will send the valve out in the post. when looking for the valve its the splines at the top which the cover fits to must be the same otherwise the cover will not fit on to the new valve
