I have purchased a hinge for the door of my washing machine. I screwed the hinge off then heard something fall inside. I have retrieved the item & assume it is the backplate but cannot figure out how to attach it.

the hindge screws into this plate,you will find it easier to fit if you remove the door seal from the front of the shell,its held on with a thin wire attached to a spring,just pull it off gently till it comes off front of machine,turn mains off before working on machine,will be even easier if you remove hindge from door,then once hindge is fitted to machine,refit the door,
