DRAINING A RADIATOR?

If I turn a Danfoss thermostatic radiator valve to zero, will it turn off the water so I can drain and remove the radiator ?

Thanks in antisipation. Keith.

Tip: Use a 5p piece, unscrew the head of the valve, insert a 5p piece into the bottom of the head, re-attach it to the valve body and then turn it to zero (Only good for very short term disconnects)

Don't forget to turn the other end of the rad off as well ;)

no you need to unscrew the thermo valve so you are just left with the brass pin sticking up in the middle and you should have a plastic cap usally blue and screw that on to where the thermo screwed on .if u dont have the cap u can get them from places like plumbcentre. just by shutting valve to zero does not shut the valve completly.
