how can I fix my power craft 720 generator?

the problem is there is no link between power lever on the outer face of the machine and the main acelerator lever that is fixed to the back of the main cylinder block I have no idea whats meant to link them together I have managed to start it with a botch job but would prefer a more permenant solution
