Bose Original Sound Dock does not charge Ipod Nano 5th generation?

Hi
Is there an alternative to the very expensive Bose upgrade for my Original Sound dock, so it will charge my I Pod Nano 5th generation? Would ideally like something I can fit at home without using soldereing irons etc.
