warning says moden not on?

put a new moden in my machine but get a warning that basically states that I need to turn it on.. HOW DO I TURN IT ON. The drivers are loaded and the machine see's it. I am using win 2k

Probably needs the right Driver files. Go to the manufacturer's website and check the support pages for help and drivers. Normally when these problems occur you are not alone. Someone has usually had the problem before you.

probably need newer drivers.We had 2k and our modem which worked perfectly with 98 would not work at all.( Driver thing).Ended up buying another one for about £10 .
