i ve got hp pavillion laptop and for some time my dvd drive wasnt working properly - it was on off iand i dont know what the problem was. some time ago i had a hard disc error and it looks that it needs replacement. my question is how can i get it to work - how to install the system when i put a new hard drive in?can i somehow use my other laptop's os to install the driver for new dvd drive and then put hard drive in and install windows? please help

The Windows installation code has some basic drivers for CD/DVD drives. Install the new drive. Go into your BIOS and set the new drive as the boot drive, put the Windows CD in it and boot from it.
