I was getting these same fru err stuff some months ago and had to pay so much because I was told it was a faulty systems board.Now I'm getting error 163 and 173 when I turn on my thinkpad 600E.But then,if I put it off and back on again,I can get through.
What's teally happening?

The CMOS battery has had it. Replace it as per your User Manual. If you don't have a manual you can get one from www.lenovo.com.
