knitting machine singer ke2500?

I have a singer knitting machine and I have just started to use it again after some considerable time.
The machine is in good working condition and is knitting well the only problem that I have found is that when I put the needles into holding position they do not hold but continue to knit can you adive.
thanks
Dorothy

hi sue
Thank you for you answer and this was what I forgot
to do as I said I havent worked my machines for quite
a number of years and I am just getting familiar with it again.
Many thanks for your help
Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,
Have you set the cams so that the needles are not brought back into work? There will be a sliding lever on the carriage or levers each side of the carriage which you move so that the needles will not knit.
Hope this helps,
