I put ten pounds of petrol in my deisel old ford transit and was wondering if any one could help me locate the fuel pump to clear the engine.

you can get down the filler neck easily with a hose pipe on these vans, syphon out then top up with a full tank of diesel and you will be fine,no need to go under bonnet at all

these have a mechanical pump on the n/s of the engine block and you would be there for ever trying to pump fuel out by these means and probably damage something in the process, you will have to drain the tank some other way,if you have started the motor you will need a new filter also, try and look onto the top of the tank there should be two pipes onto the tank unit, one white and one red,I think the flow is white so try removing that one first, press the two lugs in and remove pipe, attach a length of hose with a snug fit onto the pipe and syphon out the tank, sorry if I am wrong about the correct pipe, pre fill your filter with diesel and some fuel conditioner also before starting the motor, good luck
