how do i re wire a dyson?

i need to re wire my dyson dco7 cleanerhave you got a diagram to help me

Hi Tina,

Do you wish to replace the powercord? If so this is relativley simple. I have just done it on our dyson cos it kept turning itself off as you moved around with it.

I worked out that it was shorting out, so I chopped about 6in off the cable and reattached it. I didn't use a diagram for this, I just followed the wire through to the switch by pulling apart the case. Once at the switch there was a push-fit female termination on the live cable and the neutral cable was screwed into a terminal block.
The hardest part for me was working out how to take apart the plastic to get at the switch! You can work out where the joins are and then push pull etc and you'll soon see how it was assembled. Once you suss out how to get the plastic apart then it was a simple matter of unscrewing the contacts, trimming a length off the power cable, recrimping a new termination(found an equivalent size at Halfords) onto the live cable and then reassembling the cleaner.
