how to replace a missing,system32 file,ntkrnlmp.exe?

i have tried to restore my advent 3507,using the restore discs provided.An error code 4096 comes up,with;-file\i386\system32 \ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded.
How can this be rectified

have you tried booting the pc with the windows cd in and going through a repair process
