British Gas 532/i - Fault EA?

We have a British Gas 532/i combi boiler which keeps cutting out and displaying fault code EA. This happens whatever the weather, hot or cold. British Gas engineers have been out on numerous occasions and not one of them has given us a definitive answer for the problem. Resetting only works after several attempts and with the water running. Can anybody help?

They tried to blame it on the weather at first but it did not start until after the severe weather was over. So far they have repositioned the outlet pipe, repressurised, cleaned electrodes and replaced electrodes. As is typical it always resets first time when they are here. We last had them out in May but it has been going on throughout the summer so we are putting in another call for them and thankyou for the ideas to throw at them.

This boiler is in fact a worcester boiler badged up as a BG boiler, have had numerous problems myself with the EA fault and can be down to several issues. Combustion ratio, ignition electrodes, gas valve, condensate backing up, heat exchanger, circuit board and wiring harness. cant understand if it takes several attempts for it to light why this hasnt been diagnosed by the BG engineers?? What have they done so far?
