My 4 year old Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher model 665.15829 was working fine, till one day, its now dead, as if not plugged in. Power is good to the unit, there were no tripped breakers. Could it have been a power-spike? What are some things I can check (blown internal fuse, cracked curcuit board, common unit failures etc...) for before calling a repair man? I do not mind taking it apart and repairing myself...its dead anyway. thanks in advance.

I have been told to try replacing the thermal fuse. It is located on the circuit board under the door panel. It is a ceramic sort of white colored piece with two metal tabs. It has two wires connected two it. It is clipped onto the circuit board ,you can pop it off and replace it. It costs around ten bucks.
