how can i fix my DSI 6522 treadmill?

hi,how can i fix my treadmill,the display shows e1 which means no feedback of speed test.im thinking the problem arose from using an extension lead to run the treadmill.can anyone advise what i could do to fix the problem?im hoping i wont need to throw it out!thanks.
