How can I fix a Corby 9000 trouser press?

Does not switch on
Tom Chapman, October 2010
Assuming that you have repaced the fuse in the plug (just in case it has blown), try switching off the electrical power socket, removing the plug from the socket, switching the socket back on and putting the plug back in the socket. (You may then have to reset any settings on the press.) It worked for me. I found that it happens when you have slight power surges, or failures, where the surge is not noticeable and doesn't effect any other appliances - including computers.
