Can I leave the pull cord switch on shower on all the time?

I have had to replace the pull cord switch on triton shower twice this year. Should I leave it on all the time or will it burn out.

I have a shower wall fitted Isolation switch I am now on my 3rd switch having burnt the last two ut one lasted approx. 7 years last one 8 months then had the smell of burning when using the shower after I came out , I NORMALLY TURN THE SWITCH OFF ND ON WHEN USING THE SHOWER /can I leave this switched on permanently instead of keep turning it on and off and did the switching on and off cause the wires to burn ?

never leave it on i am an electrician i have seen the damage it can do if left on all the time it has melted peoples cables and can cause fire

i understand from pulling it can cause it to break but look for the ones made by mk alot more robust

dont like to contradict cantona, but he is right on one thing, replace the switch, its ment to be used as an isolating switch, not to turn shower on and off,use the shower controls to do this.so the answer to your question, you can leave it on all the time, its safe to do so

don't leave it on waste of money and energy if its snapping like this it could be a stiff switch inside resulting in you pulling it alot harder than you really shud.
replace switch or have a wall mounted switch installed.
