my 1999 ford ka has a problem with the windscreen washer. it was working fine then 1 day has just stopped. when the button is pressed it dont even make a noise, ive checked all fuses and there all fine. i have no idea what it could me please help, thanks

Ford KA old model 2007 water flow stopped apart from a small spurt although pump appeared to be motoring well. Tank had been allowed to become empty. My remedy taking all the usual precautions was to disconnect the supply to the front washers under the bonnet and blow by mouth towards the pump. A second person was in the car with ignition on ENGINE NOT RUNNING operating the washer switch. A few seconds after stopping the blowing the water supply started to flow slowly at first until full flow within 30 seconds or so. I am assumming that at the bottom of the empty resavoir sludge had formed. Worth a go it costs nothing and worked for me. TAKE ALL NORMAL PRECAUTIONS WORKING UNDER THE BONNET. IF IN DOUBT LEAVE WELL ALONE.
