When I switch on my Toshiba TV (15V330DB) I get sound but the picture disappears as soon as it appears. If I switch it on and off six or eight times the picture stays on. This happens whether the set is hot or cold.

Hi all. My Mum's TV (same model) is doing the same. When it's turned on, the screen comes on briefly before going off. The audio is still there and on close inspection, I can see a vague picture (it's very slight on the screen in certain lighting). I'm assuming that the backlight is therefore switching off unexpectedly but don't know of a proper fix. Sometimes putting it in A/V mode forces a blue screen and then going back to the Digital TV mode seems to force the display back on.

To add on to your question, I'm still trying to understand why it is happening. I've got the same TV set (Toshiba 15V330DB) and the same problem. It started about ten days ago. The picture disappears right away and in my case it doesn't stay on anymore even after switching the TV set on and off several times.

If I find out the answer to this problem, I'll let you know.
