1.Firstly decide if you are prepared to pay the 'Fault diagnostic' fee which all repairers charge but prices fluctuate.
2. Is the diagnostic and or suggested/estimated repair costs worth it?
3. When you go for repair quote don't mention buying a new camera. Why? they may inflate the repair costs to push you towards buying a camera instead.
4. When I changed my last camera I waited untill new models of the same one came out as I knew the previous models are sold off up to half price to relieve shelf space for the new models
