Getting rid of Shazaa.com hijacking?

I downloaded a Matrix screensaver from download.com (http://download.com.com/3000-2390-10264600.html?tag=lst-0-1) When I installed it my homepage was changed to shazaa.com. I ran spybot and Adaware and neither did anything.

Now, I admit I'm not exactly knowledgable about windows registry but I did find the values with Shazaa in them. However, when I deleted them and clicked IE to change my browser back I was sent to a website that opened my cd drives and redownloaded what I'd deleted.

I don't have any *.hta files coming up when I search. I deleted the .exe off of my computer. It all seems to be in the registry now, and I just don't know what to remove and what not to remove. Thanks for any help in advance.

Use "hijack this" to scan your computer. In the log you'll have a "02 BHO" entry thats says "redirecter" and another "02 BHO" entry that has no file name. Select those two and hit the fix option.

That worked for me.. =)

Yeah I got the same thing. If you go to goole and type in shazaa uninstall, it will give you a heap of places to go. The main answer seems to be to go back and reinstall then use the uninstall program that comes with it. The makers of the shazaa site say it was a mistake.... yeah like DERRRR and theyve fixed it now. Good luck
