How can my Mitsubishi CT-33AC1 that won't turn on?

I have a Mitsubishi CT-33AC1 that was working fine, then one day when I switched it on (from the TV) it made a bit of a noise then went totally dead. Now there is nothing there at all.
Could it possibly be the main switch?

It's very unlikely to be the mains switch, as they are usually quite relaible.

More usual causes are bad, low value electrolytic capacitors in the power supply, dry joints in the power supply or failure of the line output transistor.
