One day my little brother was playing my ds lite that I got on my 7th birthday . When hed finished playing it he left it in the the cold rain for weeks. When I found It, it was all wet and it would not turn on and I tried seeing if it worked on the charger and the orange light went for a second. any electronic device if powered up and gets wet will short out,that is why i gave you the reply before,water and electronics dont mix,

you could try taking it apart with a tri wing screwdriver and drying it out and fitting a new battery in it its may be worth a go but on ebay a secondhand one may be a better option.
