berry magicoal storage heater model 4200?

The storage heater part doesn't work. Electric supply is OK. Is there anything I can try, e.g. a trip switch, before I get a repairer to look at it and charge me a fortune to tell me it's irrepairable?

simply use a multimeter on ohms setting across the two legs, it will either be open circuit(ie busted) or almost zero ohms which means it is ok.
