How can I fix my sony vaio sony laptop keyboard/mouse/cursor?

Hello

When I am typing in microsoft words, the cursor keeps jumping around on my screen and sometimes highlighting a sentence. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

The best thing to do is to go to mouse properties in control panel. From here select the tapping tab and then select "tap off when typing".

Hi, Is there a chance you are catching the track pad with your thumbs as you type? I have hands like catcher's mitts and I often do that. The later drivers for most models have a feature that deactivates the pad when typing.

Just a thought..

Odd that it should only happen in Word? Do you have a trackpoint? Do you fiddle with it while the cursor is doing it's own thing? If so leave it to calm down. Don't try to intervene. It should settle of it's own accord.
