Will a modern flush pipe fit an antique high cistern?

Hello, Im wanting an antique high level cistern to go go in our victorian house but I am not sure if a modern flush pipe and internal bits will fit. Please help, thanks

Should do so long as you change the syphon at the same time as this is what accepts the flush pipe, standard sizes on cisterns are still imperial as they have been for donkey's
