insinkerator 444 makes loud churning sound?

the appliance appears to be working but even when empty the blades are making a noise that's way loud and metallic, not the usual turned on sound. what could be the problem? thanks

Mine does the exact same thing. Model 444. I've tried everything. This unit is only two years old.
