It is a spring in the door latch. use a putty knife to pry the hard plastic trim around the window (there are more detailed directions on other posts on replacing door handle) and look for a little spring. i just had to reconect the spring you may have to replace the spring. I would try the hardware store first before I pay for a GE replacement part . hope this help's it worked for me......
