My Panasonic DMR-EX87 thinks it has a DVD in the drawer when there isn't one! Plus, if I load a DVD it doesn't read it!

I've tried to clean it but I think some sort of detector inside has got stuck.

Any ideas? I'm quite prepared to open it up.
