how to install os on 380ed thinkpad?

bought the laptop at a yard sale. The computer runs fine except the hard drive has been formated. i can boot the disk drive and it recongnises the cd drive but wont install. what do i need to do. Its a really retro thinkpad! please help

Go into the BIOS settings and set the CD drive as the primary boot drive. Now boot from the OS CD. (BTW, you should stick to W98. The poor old thing won't cope with anything more.) you will also need to download the machine specific drivers from www.lenovo.com
